About the Women's Health Program

The Women's Health Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine was established in June of 1997 with seed money from Dr. John Hutton, Dean of the College of Medicine. A steering committee made up of university faculty was formed to help guide and support the program. Our goal is to become a nationally recognized women's health program with significant external funding.

We have been actively involved in raising awareness of  women’s health issues and gender-specific medicine. We have been a catalyst for and support to multi-disciplinary women’s health and gender-specific medicine research at UC. A committee of faculty works to ensure the inclusion of women’s health issues in the medical student curriculum.

This web site is primarily meant to be a resource for UC's teaching, research and clinical faculty, but is also a bridge to community women as well.
